Also known as Pink Cockatoo. Flies in pairs or small flocks with hesitant wing beats, from north-western Australia through central Australia to south-western Queensland, western NSW, western Victoria and inland South Australia. Uncommon nomad in mulga, mallee and cypress woodlands and grasslands, near tree- lined watercourses. Feeds on bulbous roots and seeds of shrubs and grasses. Quavering 'quee-err '; harsh alarm screech, Nesting in a deep hollow of a eucalypt :September to December.
