Calyptorhynchus magnificus

Australia generally, also called Banksian Cockatoo. Flies in slow funereal wing beats in small to large flocks. Frequenting heavily -timbered and open forests ,especially along rivers and creeks, also banksia scrubs. Noisy , weary and conspicuous. Feeds on seeds of eucalypts, casuarinas, and banksias, and also large white grubs. Nests in hollow of a dead tree, April to August.
